day 42: driving lessons

today we faced another kind of fear entirely...driving in africa.
bonnie (my supervisor) & co-pilot
i lack confidence...so does she.
- straight-drive car (sarah is just now learning manual)
- opposite side of the road = completely backwards (crossing traffic, looking over your shoulder, etc.)
- opposite side of the car = shifting gears with your left hand
- new city (anyone who know MY sense of direction [i don't have one] understand the problem)
our company car (til july when we pass it off to roxanne)
be sure to notice the missing hub cap AND duct-taped mirror :)
GOOD news: we survived to see another day.

Hey it was okay. You did great. They made me pose like I was afraid. Learning to get around in an urban city with so many cars, taxis and people is a challenge. Then learning a new car with manual transmission and steering wheel on the right hand side of the car makes for a learning curve.
Well done. Bonnie
