day 127: feeling the power of PRAYer

ministry-wise, wednesday was an incredible day. every week at siyazakha we teach 5, 30-minute classes. we really try to make the most of every single minute we have there becuase the periods are so short. almost every week our first class is "interrupted" by the ladies who come around with paint buckets filled with food for the learners. as you've heard me describe before, we stop the lesson & wait. after all, who wants to listen when they're hungry? but, even though the time is short the Lord has been faithful to bring mama "n" into the classroom each time to tell the learners to eat silently & listen to the lesson...which is not the norm! PRAISE #1!

we got to sit down & speak with the principal of that school, much like we did on monday. another great chat! we've not connected as easily with this particular principal, but when we posed an idea to her she welcomed it with great excitement. PRAISE #2! still believing God has great plans in the near future at these schools.

our last class of the day is one of the toughest for us. they typically do not have a teacher so the behavior is out of control. several on our team were PRAYing over that 2-2:30 time slot. so, we asked a teacher with whom we work very closely (mama "n" again) to step over into the room before we began just to speak with them. she agreed. we walked next door & she told us to wait outside. we have NO IDEA what she said to them...but when she opened the door to ask us to come in, all the students stood to their feet SILENTLY & a resounding, "good morning teachers!" was heard. mama "n" then stayed in the room the rest of the class & co-taught with us. it was amazing...& the kids were fun! WHO WERE THESE KIDS?? needless to say, we FELT the power of PRAYer wednesday!! & to top it all off, mama "n" said she'd come with us from now on to that class because it was her free period. praise the Lord AGAIN (#3!) for a national who genuinely loves her students.
in most of the classes we posted safeline #s for the learners in response to many of their questions about wanting help out of difficult situations. as a result, MANY learners (bottom left) expressed fear in even asking for help. they are still at the mercy of the ones who are supposed to be caring for them.
PRAY for God to intervene on behalf of the innocence of these children.

AND, the learners continue to ask incredibly deep, spiritual questions. PRAISE #4!!!
