we had a great time teaching LO in the morning & then an intense time during club that afternoon. we reviewed the creation-to-Christ story up until the point of Jesus' miracles & were teaching about his death & resurrection yesterday. hands kept shooting up...the learners had so many deep, theological questions which is encouraging BUT quite the challenge.
- "how did God come down to the earth?"
- "Why did not God save us from Satan? The sin should not have happened!"
- "if God does not have a physical body, how did Moses see Him?"
- "why did Jesus PRAY to God but He is God?"
- "why did God let his own child die??"
how do we communicate the answers to these questions on a 6th/7th grade level & in their 2nd language?? praise the LORD for "T" - who is faithfully by our side & quick to jump in & explain Truths in xhosa!
as the kids are finishing up, they always enjoy drawing on the board, showing off their incredible artistic skill. they like to tease us about how our drawing of the angels looks like ice cream cones. i laughed when i saw their interpretation...as the drawing of Satan transformed from an ice cream cone to batman."
AND...when we got home & checked the mail, i yelled, "that's my pastor!!" for whatever reason, there was a piece of mail all about ministry in North America & on the front page was my NC church pastor. it's the small things...but it really brightened my day!! miss worshipping w/ my churches back in the States but blessed to worship alongside those here during this time!
