day 173: renovate!

the housework continues!! today we had the remaining carpet in the house removed! it was an all-day process but thankfully, it's done!
while the guys worked in the house, i mowed the front/back yard. for whatever reason, they found it amusing & one-by-one they made their way to the front steps to watch.
worker #1: YOU'RE cutting the grass?
worker #2: (speechless but stood & watched for quite some time)
worker #3: (i caught gawking out the window)
worker #4: where are your boys? (to which i wanted to reply, "i'm wondering the SAME thing"...but i didn't.)
it had been so long since the last time we moved (because every free day we had it rained), that the grass was almost knee-high. the mower shut off probably 72 times. & the ground was so soggy that it frequently got bogged down & left tire tracks. by the time i finished, there was so much grass piled everywhere that i almost broke the rake trying to get it all up. i'm still not finished. i guess maybe i understand slightly why this white, American girl was so amusing to watch.

let me reiterate another THANKS to my dad. i have a newfound, incredibly DEEP appreciation for all the yardwork you've done over the years!!
