day 183: joseph & jackie chan.

first day back at siyzakha primary where we taught 2-grade 6 & 3-grade 7 life orientation classes. hilarious school day for the most part. with grade 6 we again talked about choices & consequences...AND AGAIN had a teacher got involved. great to see the kids laughing alongside of their teachers - much like our experience on monday.

as our friend from china introduced herself in each class,
it brough up some "great" questions from the kids!
can't tell you how many asked,
"candace, do you know jackie chan?"

with grade 7 we talked about dealing with conflict in our families. so, we opened the Scriptures & shared the story of joseph & his brothers - starting in genesis 37. in every class, when the Word was opened, the entire class demeanor changed. no longer were the learners restless & rowdy...but they were wide-eyed & attentive. you could have heard a pin drop. not only were they enthralled with the Word, but it left them craving more! in those classes where we opened the Word, the students asked incredible questions that fling doors wide open for next week! one student asked how many times we should forgive those who wrong us. another asked how we can know what will happen to us after death. you better believe we'll be answering those next week!
