not only was thursday our last day of term 4, it was also our last day as a team at mzamomhle primary school. sarah & i have been in this particular school since may/june, BUT our team as a whole has been working there for 3 years. so finishing up on this week was a bit bittersweet! we'd taken a few goodies for the staff & they brought us in at the end of the school day for a time of thank yous & "see ya laters."
great things happening there & an encouragment to "end" with for sure...
- several more learners returned the xhosa tracts & sought us out throughout the day able to receive Bibles
- our last class of the day was incredible. THE tough boys table was so well-behaved. the "ring-leader" of the group even volunteered [again] to act in a skit. seeing his tough demeanor break down & watching him laugh & just be a kid has been so fun. there's hope for him for sure...no matter what the adults in his life tell him.
- we decided to show the Jesus film once more at this school for the after-school girls club. cannot hurt for them to see & hear the life of Jesus in their heart language...even if they've seen it before. remember the whole "it typically takes 7 times" deal?? before we knew it, though, word had spread and instead of the 10-15 girls we tyically have present, we had 39 girls & boys asking to stay. they all piled in & crowded sarah's laptop to watch.
thank you Father for a strong finish, for the lives that have been changed at this school over the last number of years & for the seeds that have been sown. PRAYing & trusting whole-heartedly that YOU, Lord continue to work there in a mighty way!
