day 248-249: discipleship on the beach? ok!

friday was another physio appointment. i'm not fond of doctors [& especially not fond of dentists]. but within this year alone, i've been to both more than at any other time in my life. still looking into solutions on this end...covet your continued PRAYers here! thank you!

saturday was such a fun time with "T" & two students from mzamomhle. we headed to the beach together - something they'd only experienced a few other times! earlier in the week we'd called "N" to invite her to join us & she literally squealed with excitement! soon after, though, she expressed a little fear not knowing how to swim & slightly afraid of the water. we assured her we would have fun...& she'd be safe - i used to lifeguard & teach swim lessons!! that seemed to put her heart & mind at ease a bit. we'd asked her to invite several others as we would have room for a few more. when we arrived to pick her up saturday morning she said they were all busy but there were a few more we could check with. so, we drove from house to house knocking on the learners' doors. finally pulled up to "b"'s house & was greeted with laughter & big hugs by the family & several neighbors. "B" could hardly get her things fast enough.
overall, such a fun day. great for T to connect with the girls again & to have some seriously intense spiritual conversations in their heart language. that's what it's all about! [ii Tim. 2:2] great to get to begin teaching N how to swim, too...hand-in-hand, building trust!! great fellowship as we ate lunch on the beach & dug into the Word a bit, too! thank you Father for a day to connect with students even over the holiday!
