day 122: excited to dig deeper

i spent friday going through all the kids' questions from this past week. while that may SOUND like a small task...it's very time-consuming. for children to write & communicate questions in a second language is very challenging. deciphering what it is that they are asking, is equally as challenging! we spend HOURS trying to piece together jumbled letters, broken tenses & mixed up pronouns.

so after about 2-3 hours, i'd finally figured out what most were asking, typed up their questions & sorted them by their classes. i am continally overwhelmed at their depth. the Lord is really stirring something BIG in the hearts of the youth here...& it's so humbling to be a part of.

here's a few MORE of the crazy questions they asked this week:

- is it true that God is the answer?
- why do people say that the Word of God is living & active and that He is alive?
- does God have a wife?
- how does God have a Son if He does not have a wife?
- why does God let Satan play with people?

a GREAT resource from Focus on the Family's Dr. Dobson
that's been INSTRUMENTAL in communicating the answers to this week's questions
answering these questions to ANY 6th/7th grade student in a way that they'd understand is difficult...but to one who has a hard time with English - again, it's even more daunting. so, we are continuing to PRAY for national partners to step alongside of us & catch the vision of reaching xhosa youth here in cape town. PRAY specifically with us that THIS WEEK someone would step up!

and PRAISE THE LORD that because of these questions, now we can FREELY break open Scripture in the classroom!
