day 140: all over the place!

today was an incredibly scattered, but wonderful day! so i'll just hit some random high-points!

- got to celebrate a very special member of our team today as her birthday fell right in the middle of a busy week! she's a tremendous blessing to us all for sure!

- got to co-teach w/ our team leader today in one class. we played a game with the grade 7 learners all about risky vs. safe activities where transmission of HIV is concerned.

- came home to a PACKAGE from my PARENTS!! :) the mailman appeared at our gate on his bike just as i went to check. he handed it over & i immmediately said, "something smells like VANILLA!" some of my faves were inside: FRENCH VANILLA COFFEE CREAMER! (in baggies looking like drugs...go mom!), peanut M&Ms, favorite/home-smelling soap & deo! :) woohoo!! THANKS MOM & DAD!! :) :) :)
(top right) yes, that's the lady walking her pig.
even better was the man she was with who was carrying a stick.
do pigs play fetch?
- it was a GORGEOUS, semi-warm day today! sarah & i both are CRAVING sunshine since we're deep into our 2nd winter in a row. so we discovered a new spot this afternoon & walked for a bit. there we ran into several things that made us smile:

1. a group of african kids who were playing in the ocean & had obviously never seen waves before. what joy to hear/see them experience God's creation like that.

2. a couple WALKING THEIR PIG (although not on a leash) down the shore. only in africa, my friends. only in africa.

- got to hang out w/ little "m" & her big sister tonight so that her mom & dad could go out & celebrate the birthday! a barbie fashion show ensued. such fun. great day!
