day 153: sept. 10 - watching God @ work

today we had some visitors with us from johannesburg & it was great to spend some time with them. this morning we had 2-1hr. classes at xolani where we played 2 games. the 1st emphasizes the importance of abstinence. the only true SAFE sex is waiting for marriage. the 2nd game was a game-show-type of review of the whole term made possible by some homemade buzzers [stick-on-the-door-frame house alarms]! the kids loved it :)

we spent the 4-hr break between classes & after-school club at a nearby mall where we sat & chatted over coffee & lunch. then headed back to the school where we finished up the creation-to-Christ story with the 19 kids who were present. 2 students retold all that we've taught them thus far & then we shared the end of the story. we split up into boys/girls groups & went a little deeper. 3:30 rolled around (when we're supposed to get out) & the kids BEGAN asking questions. not til around 4:05 did we finally get on the road. eventually we got kicked out of the classroom & out of the parking lot area...but it didn't stop the Spirit from moving. the kids kept following. we each walked out with a small group around us asking questions. we moved from the classroom, to the courtyard, to the parking lot, to the street.
(top left to right) me & "T" :)
caught tim carrying T's purse...& enjoying it a little too much
caught tim having kicked his shoes off & taking a nap (noticing a pattern?)
(middle far right) "T" leading a young man to the Lord
learner #1: "why didn't Jesus stop satan from rebelling & save us from death from the very beginning"
learner #2: "how does Satan tempt us?"
learner #3: "how then do i become saved???"
learner #4: "what is 666?"
learner #5: "if i ask God to forgive me & come into my life today, then cheat tomorrow, then die the next day...what will happen to me?"

& those were just the ones that came my direction. i pointed #3 to "T" who later, there in the middle of the street, led a sweet young man to the Lord. amen!!

also found out that pastor "k," who has been co-teaching with our team leader, received a visit today from another young man who said he wanted to be a pastor. after talking further, pastor "k" led HIM to the Lord! amen again!!!!!

INCREDIBLE day to watch the Lord at work here...SO encouraged that 2 young MEN came to know the Lord today...& that NATIONALS were the ones to lead them to the foot of the Father. THAT is what it's all about. thank you Father for allowing us to join you at work here!
