day 98: waging war

today we were scheduled to head to nomlinganiselo school - the community where we had 108 campers last week & 55 now to follow-up with. it's also the community where we work in 2 different schools AND where we have a national pastor team-teaching with us to potentially take the work over. but...plans changed.

pastor "k's" home was broken into last night. he & his family are safe but, understandably, shaken. sarah, who had gotten to bed early because she wasn't feeling well, also found out in the middle of the night that there was a death in her family. with all that was going on, that only left bruce & me to go to the school. we didn't feel it wise to go together alone, as culturally assumptions could have been made...especially given the topic for the week. so, bruce planned to go solo. but, his motorcycle wouldn't start. we ended up having to cancel today at the school.
since we didn't go to the school today,
AND it was relatively warm & dry (woohoo!),
i spent the afternoon overlooking the city PRAYing
& being doused in good music & a good Word
as someone else said, "is it any surprise that after such a wonderful week we are seeing so many prayer requests today?" all day long i kept voicing aloud, "Jesus - YOU are stronger."

if you wouldn't mind, lift up our team today! PRAY ephesians 6:10-13 over us:
- that we would be strong in the Lord & in His mighty power,
- that we would recognize that our struggle is not against flesh & blood, but against the rulers, authorities, powers of this dark world,
- that we would put on the full armor of God so that we can take our stand against the devil's schemes.

& PRAY that we would remember who already reigns victoriously!
