day 205: much to celebrate!

although we haven't been at mzamomhle (thursday school) 3 years, our team has. with that in mind, we are in process of phasing out of that particular school in order to move into a new one. so, thursday was our next to last week there. because of that we felt compelled to boldly proclaim the gospel in every classroom. what's the worst that could happen? they ask us not to return? not likely to happen since there's never once been a teacher in any of our classes. so, that's exactly what we did!

in the 1st class the learners were absolutely riveted by the story...so much so that the bell rang for their break time & yet for another 10-15 minutes we continued to share & no one moved. several students ran after us or found us later to bring back the xhosa tracts i'd given them the week prior. the young man who'd received a Bible last week proudly came, too...still clinging to the Word & bringing with him a friend who also wanted one. the young lady who received a Bible talked about how she had a Bible...but it was just an English New Testament...& her mother couldn't read/understand much english. i told her if she could wait a week, i'd try to find a xhosa Bible. she said, "no - i can read it & translate it for her. i want to read it to her. i just need the whole thing." we then got to talk about how she'd come to the camp back in july. she smiled from ear-to-ear...singing "i know who I AM!" (camp theme song). praise the Lord for this young one who absolutely knows who she is. PRAY that she will continue faithfully sharing with her mother.
(top middle) thursday was also "T's" birthday! great to celebrate with her! :)
we got to the 3rd class of the day & the room was flooded with mud & water. so, we moved class to a field out back. there in the grass we shared the Truth about Jesus. again, we shared in the 4th class. the best part was that, for the most part, T was able to communicate & clarify in xhosa. so not only can we walk away with the assurance that at LEAST a seed has been planted...but it was done so in their heart language.

by the end of the day we had countless leaners asking & writing, "how do I accept Jesus?" PRAY with us as we return one last week we would know how to handle their questions in a clear but NOT misleading way. PRAY that as we prepare to step back onto the campus again, our heart's would be incredibly sensitive to the Holy Spirit's lead. PRAY that the students who make decisions will do so out of a genuine heart & not as a result of fear or peer pressure. PRAY that they would connect to a local church soon! thank you Father for your faithfulness in drawing your children to You.
