days 314-315: so maybe we tied up the kids...

this week at the 2 primary schools we had a blast with the after-schoolers. we split the groups into 2 teams - girls vs. boys & had them run an obstacle course...but not before we tied them up nice & tight! they laughed hysterically as they flopped & flailed all over the place. not to worry, it wasn't without a cause.
what made this activity so difficult??
"YOU TIED US UP!?!" they shouted,
again doubling over in laughter.
"...let us throw off everthing that hinders
& the sin that so easily entangles.
And let us run with perseverance
the race marked out for us,
fixing our eyes on JESUS..."
so we shared with them from hebrews 12:1-2 & talked about how sin affects our lives, how God has a great purpose & plan for us if we'd only focus our gaze on Him & throw off those things that don't honor Him. great to have "M" (one of our national partners) with us today to reinforce the Word in xhosa to the learners. and GREAT to hear the laughter turn to absolute silence as they were totally engaged with God's Word.

PRAY for the 51 grade 6 learners who heard this Word from our Lord this week - that as they continue throughout their week, the lesson that came alive for them will begin to take root & spur on more questions & hunger for Truth in the weeks to come!
