day 470: PRAISE! :)

it is always so fun to spend time exercising, being active OUTDOORS & laughing with the students & teachers at phandulwazi high school. last week we took the kids outside for some interval running in the COLD! but nothing, not even the frigid weather & wind, motivates a faster pace quite like a female african teacher chasing behind you with a stick!

B, a local xhosa friend & pastor, showed up for SCO again where he shared a great Word from john 6.

many of you have been praying for A, who accepted Christ a number of weeks ago one saturday. we've been PRAYing not only for salvation but also for a connection with the church. last thursday,  A showed up in the middle of SCO. we got to chat for a few minutes afterwards.
she shared that on the previous sunday, she walked to church on her own initiative with her little brother in tow. though a bit shy & uncomfortable there by herself she said, "this is the church for me." i realized in that moment that i was smiling uncontrollably. YES LORD! this is ALL YOU! i had been discouraged as time & time again plans to connect her with the church fell through. i tried to go with her 3-4 weeks. another older xhosa student tried to connect with her twice. but the Lord stirred in her heart anyway...and not just to go...but to take her little brother, too. HE is moving! fruit in her life flowing from the Spirit within!

B - the pastor who spoke that day & who met her the day she accepted Christ - came over about that time in the conversation.
"i'm still waiting on you to come to my church." B said.
"i was there!" A replied.
"this past week?" B asked, shocked.
"YES, you were late!" she said with a grin.
with that, B broke into laughter. he had, indeed, been late. they continued to carry on a convo in xhosa where he invited her to a friday youth worship service & a saturday bible study led by his wife. continue in PRAYer with us for A & her family! :) excited to see how the Lord continues to move in her life.
