day 93: extreme school makeover!

although camp is over, the fairview team is still here until saturday. so, today we did some "dirty work." the intent was to paint 4 classrooms at one of the schools in which we work each week. but, once we got to the school & began scraping & washing the walls & adding primer, we realized both time & resources were limited. so, we ended up working from 8-2:30 & finished 2 rooms. needless to say, we had a lot of fun doing it & it was a great way to give back to the students who have been blessing us all week.
just a personal side-note...
the last 24-hours or so have been really cool (for lack of a better term). the exhaustion from the week has really set in & we're all lagging a bit. waking up everyday at 6am & then going full force through the afternoon (& sometimes later) has taken its toll. BUT...
BEFORE & AFTER SHOTS of 2 walls in a Grade 6 Classroom
we ended up down by the beach last night which ALWAYS makes any day better. got to watch the sunSET into the ocean. this morning we were all running a bit late but as we crossed the bridge into the township i was struck by the sun RISING from behind the mountain. it was perfect...absolutely perfect.

as if God Himself was speaking directly to us,
"from the rising of the sun to the place where it sets, I AM to be praised."
-psalm 113:3
it's amazing what a fresh coat of paint can do!
& that's what this is all about.
He alone deserves ALL the praise.
