day 62: peeking into journals

still on school holiday, we have to be very intentional with our "down time." so today, sarah & i decided to begin reading the journals the kids in the after-school clubs keep. (no worries...they know we're reading them!) it gives us a chance to take a closer look into what the Lord is stirring in their hearts & minds. they often times feel more free to share thoughts & feelings in written form!
"when you say father please I do not have food to eat for later
god can make the plan to eat because he creates us and we love him"
do WE have that kind of faith?
"I must stop doing wrong thing...
plz pray for me to stop doing wrong.
i can't stop i don't know why..."
does this not SCREAM romans 7 where Paul talks about being a slave to sin -
not understanding why he does that which he hates!?
"take us to some where on June & learn Jesus with you please"
PRAY that as we read through the stacks & stacks of journals, we would be sensitive to the Spirit's lead. we are PRAYing through each one, keeping our eyes open to their expressed, felt needs. understanding their hearts helps us plan lessons for the coming weeks!
