today (tuesday) we started back at moshesh primary. we continued with the lesson on responsibility & the story of esther. she had a difficult decision to make. would she be willing to step up & speak on behalf of an entire nation & in doing so risk her own life? such a sense of the Spirit's presence with us as the story was told today & it was evident in the students' questions afterwards. we so look forward to answering these next week! their questions open the door for us to boldly proclaim the Truth of the gospel right there during the school day! thanking God for evidence of His movement in their hearts already!
the king extended his royal scepter, inviting her in & sparing her life -book of esther |
"i had 2 rands (equivalent of $0.20-0.25) so i bought 20 sweets (candy). and i called all these kids to come (about 10) & shared the story with them. they liked it very much & wanted to keep the cube but i refused!...i also shared with my mom & she said it was magical."
what an incredible picture! the gospel being spread wide :) thanking HIM! PRAY with us for God's continued movement in steering A3's family to a local Bible-believing church!
as SHE shared, 8 boys surrounded us intrigued by the cube. "what is this?" they asked & then began to speak to one another in xhosa. one boy looked at me with questioning eyes, pointing to the pictures still speaking in xhosa. he looked young but i asked him, "khawuthethe isiNgesi?"(will you speak english?) he pointed to a picture of the scars on Jesus' wrists & asked, "what are these?"
"have you heard about this before?" i asked.
"no," the majority replied.
"would you like to hear a story?" nods all around. "then come in here!"
so we went into a nearby classroom & shared the gospel with a mixture of 8 grade 5 & 6 boys. while their english is not great - they were eager to listen & understand. PRAY with us that they return next week when our national parnter will be with us...able to communicate the gospel more clearly in their heart language!
& the day didn't stop there!...
as we walked to the car a worker who was sweeping the schoolyard waved us down. "can i ask what church are you with? i overheard you sharing about Christian foundations as i swept." he introduced himself & shared that he was with the church of latter day saints. ok LORD - you have our attention. PRAY with us for continued opportunities to share with him as well! His Word will not return void!
will you commit to PRAYing over tuesdays specifically?
